Celtic host Bayer Leverkusen in one of the most exciting games of the Matchday No 2 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening at Celtic Park. Celtic will be hoping to rebound from the inaugural defeat at Real Betis as they play host to Bayer Leverkusen in the second round of their UEFA Europa League group phase campaign.
Lazio vs Lokomotiv is scheduled for a 9.00pm ETC kick-off on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
The match will take place at stadium Celtic Park.
Celtic are currently without eight first-team players due to injury and they are all set to remain out until the middle of next month. Kyogo Furuhashi, Karamoko Dembele and Christopher Jullien are ruled out with knee injuries, while Callum McGregor (hamstring), Georgios Giakoumakis (calf), Greg Taylor (shoulder) and James Forrest (knock) are also unavailable for selection. With Postecoglou short of attacking options, Abada, Jota and Ajeti are all expected to start once again, with the latter looking to score his second goal in this year's competition after finding the net against Real Betis.
As for Bayer Leverkusen, Robert Andrich is currently serving a domestic suspension, though he will be in contention to start in midfield ahead of either Kerem Demirbay or Charles Aranguiz. They also have several injury concerns of their own, with Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee), Julian Baumgartlinger (knee), Edmond Tapsoba (ankle), Exequiel Palacios (ankle) and Niklas Lomb (finger) all ruled out of Thursday's game.
